The Black Box Theatre

Located in the McClintock building, the James A. Panowski Black Box Theatre is a wonderfully versatile space. Seating approximately one hundred people, the Black Box provides a more intimate playing space for the actors and the audience alike, but without neglecting any of the technology available in a larger theatre, featuring a full lighting and sound system and dressing room. This modern space reflects the movement of the current theatre industry, and provides a perfect training ground for our students.

Annie Humphrey's concert was a wonderfully low key mixture of storytelling and folk-style music. Humphrey sang original songs that she composed. Local Native American musical group Waawiyeyaa, composed of folks connected to the NMU community, backed up Humphrey and provided additional entertainment between Humphrey's beautifully melodic renditions.
