The concert by Le Vent du Nord was utterly engaging, precise, funny, delightful and just plain wonderful. The quintet can really make music and the audience were dancing in their seats. Seriously superlatives aside, these guys are serious musicians and the timing and execution of each piece was tight but not stodgy. The fiddlers also took turns stamping their feet on an amplified drum (?) that just looked from a distance like a flat piece of wood...the sound and their timing was impeccable...and the compositions were often very long, yet they kept the rhythm up. What stamina! What stomach muscles! Oh, did I mention they did this while playing fiddle and singing?

An added bonus...for me! In the parking lot I asked a woman named Cathy who was with her grandson Aiden, if she knew if the ticket office accepted debit cards. Cathy didn't know but then she asked if I were alone (which I was) and told me she had an extra ticket (which she generously gave me). Wow! Great concert!
