NMU Orchestra Auditions

An audition consists of a 2-minute solo excerpt, a scale of your choice, and a few bars of sight-reading. The orchestra is primarily seeking string players, but we also accept skilled woodwind, brass and percussion players.

You may sign up for an audition time (5 minutes each) in advance on the music department bulletin board across from Thomas Fine Arts room 102, or show up backstage between 4-7pm on the 14th and wait for an opening. We have a lot of returning members, and we look forward to new members (even if you are "dusting off" your instrument!).

The first rehearsal is Jan. 16th from 5:00-6:50, and subsequent rehearsals are Mondays and Wednesdays at that time excluding Martin Luther King Day; Students register for "MU116" for .5 credit, or "MU116A" for 0 credit if they are already at their credit limit.

Thank You, -Dr. Rhyneer

Choose the theme, question, and title- make sure to brainstorm and choose a theme that will be valuable, unique, and reasonable. The question you choose should lead you to a testable hypothesis that you can prove with strong arguments. Discuss few alternatives of the dissertation title with your mentor before you start writing the proposal. https://phdify.com/
