Interested in museums, history, music, art, education, culture, or life in the U.P.? The Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center is NMU’s own historical museum and education facility which serves to preserve Upper Peninsula history and educate the community through exhibitions in Gries Hall, maintaining displays around campus, collecting and preserving artifacts, as well as working with other campus departments on collaborative projects.
All interested students are invited to a “Night at the Beaumier” on Thursday, January 30th at 6:00 pm. Get an up-close look at our current exhibit, “The 51st State?” which shows the how and why of the Upper Peninsula becoming a part of Michigan. Also included will be a tour of our collection’s storage and a conversation about the Beaumier and its future on campus with hors d’oeuvres provided by Simply Superior.
Any interested individuals should RSVP via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (906) 227-3212 by Monday, January 27.
