Northern is thanking the Lovell Family for its $1 million gift to create the Mark R. and Eileen Lovell Endowed Professorship with a recognition ceremony at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Mead Auditorium. The public is invited to attend.
Dr. Mark Lovell, who graduated from NMU in 1977, is internationally recognized as a concussion expert for his development of innovative neurocognitive testing programs and groundbreaking research. His ImPACT Test ha become a tool used internationally in comprehensive clinical management of concussions, and is used by the NFL, NHL, Irish rugby, USA Women’s Olympic Hockey team, WWE Wrestling, the U.S. Ski and Snowboard teams, and others.
Dr. Marguerite (Maggy) Moore is the first recipient of the Lovell Professorship. She will present on her concussion-related research at the Sept. 19 recognition ceremony.
