The Student Conduct Board is looking for new members. If you’re interested in being a part of the board that hears student conduct cases, please fill out an application and return it to the Dean of Students Office (2001 C. B. Hedgcock) by 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017. The Student Conduct Board hears student conduct cases where alleged violations of NMU’s Student Code occurred and the student has denied responsibility. Serving on the board is a unique college experience. The time commitment varies from 15-30 hours per semester. Your experience serving on the Student Conduct Board can be logged for Superior Edge hours. Qualifications: Minimum G. P.A. of 2.00, completion of at least 12 credit hours, free of any probation imposed by the student conduct process. Applications are available in the Dean of Students Office and all Resident Director’s Offices. Nursing BSN applications accepted 9/1-10/1/17

The online application for the winter 2018 semester BSN program will be open from September 1 to October 1, 2017 at http://www.nmu.edu/nursing/application. If you have completed or are enrolled in fall 2017 semester for all BSN prerequisite courses*, you must apply to be considered for admission to the BSN program. If needed, contact your adviser for the appropriate semester for you to apply. The BSN application for winter 2018 admission will close on October 1 at 11:59 p.m. and no late applications will be accepted. The application will require attachments. The requirements will differ depending on your academic history. Our guidelines require you to attach the following: A copy of your unofficial NMU student transcript. Include current semester of classes & GPA. (This can be requested through your MyNMU Student Services tab and saved as a .htm, .html or .pdf file.) A NMU Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) and unofficial transcripts for all colleges or universities you have attended if you have earned less than 12 credits at NMU. If not previously provided to the School of Nursing or changes have occurred, Post Baccalaureate students transferring pre-requisite courses from another institution must complete the “Post Baccalaureate Prerequisite Check List”. This form can be found by following this link: http://www.nmu.edu/nursing/sites/DrupalNursing/files/UserFiles/Post_bacc_checklist.pdf, and is also available on the NMU Nursing website. The student must print this form and bring it to the Registrar’s office (2202 Hedgcock) to be completed. Allow 5 business days for processing. This form is then to be picked up from the Registrar’s office by the student and submitted to the Nursing office (2301 New Science Facility) in an envelope sealed and stamped by the Registrar. This is due no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, October 2. If you have received AP (advanced placement) credit for or Chemistry (CH109 or CH107/108 or CH111/112) you will need to attach a copy of your official scoring report from the College Board. If you are transferring from another nursing program, please provide a letter of good standing from the director of the previous nursing program. Apply early since there are no exceptions to the deadline date. *Required nursing prerequisites: AH 102, BI 203, BI 207/201, BI 208/202, CH 109, HN 301A, HN 301B, PY 100 (select other courses may be accepted, see your adviser if you have questions)

Ushers Needed for Forest Robert Theatre Play: Noises Off

The FRT is looking for student volunteers to usher for our upcoming production of Noises Off. Ushers would be responsible for handing out programs, taking tickets, and helping people to their seats. If there are available seats, ushers may also see the show for free on the night that they are volunteering. Dates and times of the show are: Friday, September 29th, at 7:30pm Saturday, September 30th, at 1:00pm Saturday, September 30th, at 7:30pm Thursday, October 5, at 7:30 pm Friday, October 6, at 7:30 pm Saturday, October 7, at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 7, at 7:30 pm Ushers should arrive at least an hour before the show begins, and dress code is business casual, but preferably black clothing.
