Hello everyone! The Cognitive x Affective Behavior & Integrative Neuroscience lab is looking for participants to take part in our brain imaging and at-home cellphone study on emotion regulation.

Both NMU students and community (between 18-42 years old) are very welcome! Come to join us and earn $65 for completing the whole procedure (two testing sessions + an interesting 6-week at-home cellphone app session)!

This is an opportunity for employers to share information with NMU students and alumni on a wide range of career possibilities. Employers are also welcome to recruit for full-time or part-time positions, internships and summer staff.

James McPherson of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) will be on campus, Wednesday, Oct. 24, to discuss how intellectual property applies to students and small businesses. The program will focus on how to protect your ideas through the patent process and how to protect your branding through trademarks. USPTO and local resources will be discussed for pro se applicants and how to navigate the USPTO without an attorney. The presentation will take place from 1:30–3:30 pm, room 1706, West Science Building.  This will include a question-and-answer session. The event is free and open to the public.

McPherson is a primary examiner for USPTO and currently serves as assistant to the Regional Outreach Officer and regional director for the Elijah J. McCoy Midwest Regional USPTO (MWRO) located in Detroit.
